96. Al-'Alaq (19 Ayahs)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
Al-'Alaq • Ayah 2
خَلَقَ ٱ لۡإِنس َـٰ نَ مِنۡ عَلَق ٍ ٢
EN · Sahih Intl. Created man from a clinging substance.
Al-'Alaq • Ayah 3
ٱقۡ رَأۡ وَرَبُّكَ ٱ لۡأَكۡرَمُ ٣
EN · Sahih Intl. Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous -
Al-'Alaq • Ayah 4
ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَ بِٱ لۡقَلَمِ ٤
EN · Sahih Intl. Who taught by the pen
Al-'Alaq • Ayah 5
عَلَّمَ ٱ لۡإِنس َـٰ نَ مَا لَمۡ يَعۡلَمۡ ٥
EN · Sahih Intl. Taught man that which he knew not.
Al-'Alaq • Ayah 6
كَلَّآ إِنّ َ ٱ لۡإِنس َـٰ نَ لَيَطۡ غَىٰٓ ٦
EN · Sahih Intl. No! [But] indeed, man transgresses
Al-'Alaq • Ayah 7
أَن ر َّءَاهُ ٱ سۡتَغۡنَىٰٓ ٧
EN · Sahih Intl. Because he sees himself self-sufficient.
Al-'Alaq • Ayah 8
إِنّ َ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱ ل رُّجۡ عَىٰٓ ٨
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, to your Lord is the return.
Al-'Alaq • Ayah 9
أَرَءَيۡتَ ٱ لَّذِى يَنۡهَىٰ ٩
EN · Sahih Intl. Have you seen the one who forbids
Al-'Alaq • Ayah 10
عَبۡ دًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰٓ ١٠
EN · Sahih Intl. A servant when he prays?
Al-'Alaq • Ayah 11
أَرَءَيۡتَ إِن ك َانَ عَلَى ٱ لۡهُدَىٰٓ ١١
EN · Sahih Intl. Have you seen if he is upon guidance
Al-'Alaq • Ayah 12
أَوۡ أَمَرَ بِٱ ل تَّقۡ وَىٰٓ ١٢
EN · Sahih Intl. Or enjoins righteousness?
Al-'Alaq • Ayah 13
أَرَءَيۡتَ إِن ك َذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ ١٣
EN · Sahih Intl. Have you seen if he denies and turns away -
Al-'Alaq • Ayah 14
أَلَمۡ يَعۡلَم ب ِأَنّ َ ٱ للَّهَ يَرَىٰ ١٤
EN · Sahih Intl. Does he not know that Allāh sees?
Al-'Alaq • Ayah 15
كَلَّا لَئِن ل َّمۡ يَنت َهِ لَنَسۡفَعَۢا ب ِٱ ل نّ َاصِيَةِ ١٥
EN · Sahih Intl. No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock1
Al-'Alaq • Ayah 16
نَاصِيَةٍ ك َـٰ ذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ ١٦
EN · Sahih Intl. A lying, sinning forelock.
Al-'Alaq • Ayah 17
فَلۡيَدۡ عُ نَادِيَهُۥ ١٧
EN · Sahih Intl. Then let him call his associates;
Al-'Alaq • Ayah 18
سَنَدۡ عُ ٱ ل زَّبَانِيَةَ ١٨
EN · Sahih Intl. We will call the angels of Hell.1
Al-'Alaq • Ayah 19 ۩ Sajdah
كَلَّا لَا تُطِعۡهُ وَٱ سۡجُدۡ وَٱ قۡ تَرِب ۩
EN · Sahih Intl. No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allāh].
