91. Ash-Shams (15 Ayahs)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
Ash-Shams • Ayah 2
وَٱ لۡقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَـٰ هَا ٢
EN · Sahih Intl. And [by] the moon when it follows it
Ash-Shams • Ayah 3
وَٱ ل نّ َهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّـٰ هَا ٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And [by] the day when it displays it1
Ash-Shams • Ayah 4
وَٱ لَّيۡلِ إِذَا يَغۡشَـٰ هَا ٤
EN · Sahih Intl. And [by] the night when it covers [i.e., conceals] it
Ash-Shams • Ayah 5
وَٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ وَمَا بَنَـٰ هَا ٥
EN · Sahih Intl. And [by] the sky and He who constructed it
Ash-Shams • Ayah 6
وَٱ لۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا طَحَـٰ هَا ٦
EN · Sahih Intl. And [by] the earth and He who spread it
Ash-Shams • Ayah 7
وَنَفۡسٍ و َمَا سَوَّٮٰ هَا ٧
EN · Sahih Intl. And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it1
Ash-Shams • Ayah 8
فَأَلۡهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقۡ وَٮٰ هَا ٨
EN · Sahih Intl. And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness,
Ash-Shams • Ayah 9
قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن ز َكَّـٰ هَا ٩
EN · Sahih Intl. He has succeeded who purifies it,
Ash-Shams • Ayah 10
وَقَدۡ خَابَ مَن د َسَّـٰ هَا ١٠
EN · Sahih Intl. And he has failed who instills it [with corruption].
Ash-Shams • Ayah 11
كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ بِطَغۡوَٮٰ هَآ ١١
EN · Sahih Intl. Thamūd denied [their prophet] by reason of their transgression,
Ash-Shams • Ayah 12
إِذِ ٱ نۢب َعَثَ أَشۡقَـٰ هَا ١٢
EN · Sahih Intl. When the most wretched of them was sent forth.1
Ash-Shams • Ayah 13
فَقَالَ لَهُمۡ رَسُولُ ٱ للَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱ للَّهِ وَسُقۡ يَـٰ هَا ١٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And the messenger of Allāh [i.e., Ṣāliḥ] said to them, "[Do not harm] the she-camel of Allāh or [prevent her from] her drink."
Ash-Shams • Ayah 14
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمۡدَمَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ رَبُّهُم ب ِذَنۢب ِهِمۡ فَسَوَّٮٰ هَا ١٤
EN · Sahih Intl. But they denied him and hamstrung1 her. So their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them].
Ash-Shams • Ayah 15
وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقۡ بَـٰ هَا ١٥
EN · Sahih Intl. And He does not fear the consequence thereof.1
