Al-Qamar • Ayah 1
ٱقۡ تَرَبَتِ ٱ ل سَّاعَةُ وَٱ نش َقَّ ٱ لۡقَمَرُ ١
EN · Sahih Intl. The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two].1

54. Al-Qamar (55 Ayahs)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 2
وَإِن ي َرَوۡاۡ ءَايَةً ي ُعۡرِضُواۡ وَيَقُولُواۡ سِحۡرٌ م ُّسۡتَمِرٌّ ٢
EN · Sahih Intl. And if they see a sign [i.e., miracle], they turn away and say, "Passing magic."1
Al-Qamar • Ayah 3
وَكَذَّبُواۡ وَٱ تَّبَعُوٓ اۡ أَهۡوَا ٓءَهُمۡۚ وَكُلُّ أَمۡرٍ م ُّسۡتَقِرٌّ ٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 4
وَلَقَدۡ جَا ٓءَهُم م ِّنَ ٱ لۡأَنۢب َا ٓءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزۡدَجَرٌ ٤
EN · Sahih Intl. And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 5
حِكۡمَةُۢ ب َـٰ لِغَةٌۖ ف َمَا تُغۡنِ ٱ ل نّ ُذُرُ ٥
EN · Sahih Intl. Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [them].
Al-Qamar • Ayah 6
فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡۘ يَوۡمَ يَدۡ عُ ٱ ل دَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَىۡءٍ ن ُّكُرٍ ٦
EN · Sahih Intl. So leave them, [O Muḥammad]. The Day the Caller1 calls to something forbidding,
Al-Qamar • Ayah 7
خُشَّعًا أَبۡ صَـٰ رُهُمۡ يَخۡرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱ لۡأَجۡ دَاثِ كَأَنّ َهُمۡ جَرَادٌ م ُّنت َشِرٌ ٧
EN · Sahih Intl. Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading,
Al-Qamar • Ayah 8
مُّهۡطِعِينَ إِلَى ٱ ل دَّاعِۖ يَقُولُ ٱ لۡكَـٰ فِرُونَ هَـٰ ذَا يَوۡمٌ عَسِرٌ ٨
EN · Sahih Intl. Racing ahead toward the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day."
Al-Qamar • Ayah 9
۞كَذَّبَتۡ قَبۡ لَهُمۡ قَوۡمُ نُوحٍ ف َكَذَّبُواۡ عَبۡ دَنَا وَقَالُواۡ مَجۡ نُونٌ و َٱ زۡدُجِرَ ٩
EN · Sahih Intl. The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, "A madman," and he was repelled.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 10
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنّ ِى مَغۡلُوبٌ ف َٱ نت َصِرۡ ١٠
EN · Sahih Intl. So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help."
Al-Qamar • Ayah 11
فَفَتَحۡنَآ أَبۡ وٰ ٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ بِمَا ٓءٍ م ُّنۡهَمِرٍ ١١
EN · Sahih Intl. Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring down
Al-Qamar • Ayah 12
وَفَجَّرۡنَا ٱ لۡأَرۡضَ عُيُونًا ف َٱ لۡتَقَى ٱ لۡمَا ٓءُ عَلَىٰٓ أَمۡرٍ ق َدۡ قُدِرَ ١٢
EN · Sahih Intl. And caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already predestined.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 13
وَحَمَلۡنَـٰ هُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلۡوٰ حٍ و َدُسُرٍ ١٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And We carried him on a [construction of] planks and nails,
Al-Qamar • Ayah 14
تَجۡ رِى بِأَعۡيُنِنَا جَزَا ٓءً ل ِّمَن ك َانَ كُفِرَ ١٤
EN · Sahih Intl. Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been denied.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 15
وَلَقَد تَّرَكۡنَـٰ هَآ ءَايَةً ف َهَلۡ مِن م ُّدَّكِرٍ ١٥
EN · Sahih Intl. And We left it as a sign, so is there any who will remember?
Al-Qamar • Ayah 16
فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ١٦
EN · Sahih Intl. And how [severe] were My punishment and warning.1
Al-Qamar • Ayah 17
وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱ لۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن م ُّدَّكِرٍ ١٧
EN · Sahih Intl. And We have certainly made the Qur’ān easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?
Al-Qamar • Ayah 18
كَذَّبَتۡ عَادٌ ف َكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ١٨
EN · Sahih Intl. ʿAad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 19
إِنّ َآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ رِيحًا ص َرۡصَرًا ف ِى يَوۡمِ نَحۡسٍ م ُّسۡتَمِرٍّ ١٩
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune,
Al-Qamar • Ayah 20
تَنز ِعُ ٱ ل نّ َاسَ كَأَنّ َهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلٍ م ُّنق َعِرٍ ٢٠
EN · Sahih Intl. Extracting the people1 as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 21
فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ٢١
EN · Sahih Intl. And how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 22
وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱ لۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن م ُّدَّكِرٍ ٢٢
EN · Sahih Intl. And We have certainly made the Qur’ān easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?
Al-Qamar • Ayah 23
كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ بِٱ ل نّ ُذُرِ ٢٣
EN · Sahih Intl. Thamūd denied the warning.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 24
فَقَالُوٓ اۡ أَبَشَرًا م ِّنّ َا وٰ دًا ن َّتَّبِعُهُۥٓ إِنّ َآ إِذًا ل َّفِى ضَلَـٰ لٍ و َسُعُرٍ ٢٤
EN · Sahih Intl. And said, "Is it one human being1 among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 25
أَءُلۡقِىَ ٱ ل ذِّكۡرُ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۢ ب َيۡنِنَا بَلۡ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌ ٢٥
EN · Sahih Intl. Has the message been sent down upon him from among us? Rather, he is an insolent liar."
Al-Qamar • Ayah 26
سَيَعۡلَمُونَ غَدًا م َّنِ ٱ لۡكَذَّابُ ٱ لۡأَشِرُ ٢٦
EN · Sahih Intl. They will know tomorrow who is the insolent liar.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 27
إِنّ َا مُرۡسِلُواۡ ٱ ل نّ َاقَةِ فِتۡنَةً ل َّهُمۡ فَٱ رۡتَقِبۡ هُمۡ وَٱ صۡطَبِرۡ ٢٧
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient.1
Al-Qamar • Ayah 28
وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡ أَنّ َ ٱ لۡمَا ٓءَ قِسۡمَةُۢ ب َيۡنَهُمۡۖ كُلُّ شِرۡبٍ م ُّحۡتَضَرٌ ٢٨
EN · Sahih Intl. And inform them that the water is shared between them,1 each [day of] drink attended [by turn].
Al-Qamar • Ayah 29
فَنَادَوۡاۡ صَاحِبَهُمۡ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ ٢٩
EN · Sahih Intl. But they called their companion,1 and he dared2 and hamstrung [her].
Al-Qamar • Ayah 30
فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ٣٠
EN · Sahih Intl. And how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 31
إِنّ َآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ صَيۡحَةً و ٰ ةً ف َكَانُواۡ كَهَشِيمِ ٱ لۡمُحۡتَظِرِ ٣١
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, We sent upon them one shriek [i.e., blast from the sky], and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 32
وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱ لۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن م ُّدَّكِرٍ ٣٢
EN · Sahih Intl. And We have certainly made the Qur’ān easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?
Al-Qamar • Ayah 33
كَذَّبَتۡ قَوۡمُ لُوطِۭ ب ِٱ ل نّ ُذُرِ ٣٣
EN · Sahih Intl. The people of Lot denied the warning.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 34
إِنّ َآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ حَاصِبًا إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍۖ ن َّجَّيۡنَـٰ هُم ب ِسَحَرٍ ٣٤
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 35
نِّعۡمَةً م ِّنۡ عِند ِنَاۚ كَذٰ جۡ زِى مَن ش َكَرَ ٣٥
EN · Sahih Intl. As favor from Us. Thus do We reward he who is grateful.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 36
وَلَقَدۡ أَنذ َرَهُم ب َطۡ شَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوۡاۡ بِٱ ل نّ ُذُرِ ٣٦
EN · Sahih Intl. And he had already warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warning.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 37
وَلَقَدۡ رٰ ن ض َيۡفِهِۦ فَطَمَسۡنَآ أَعۡيُنَهُمۡ فَذُوقُواۡ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ٣٧
EN · Sahih Intl. And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warning."
Al-Qamar • Ayah 38
وَلَقَدۡ صَبَّحَهُم ب ُكۡرَةً عَذَابٌ م ُّسۡتَقِرٌّ ٣٨
EN · Sahih Intl. And there came upon them by morning an abiding punishment.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 39
فَذُوقُواۡ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ٣٩
EN · Sahih Intl. So taste My punishment and warning.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 40
وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱ لۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن م ُّدَّكِرٍ ٤٠
EN · Sahih Intl. And We have certainly made the Qur’ān easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?
Al-Qamar • Ayah 41
وَلَقَدۡ جَا ٓءَ ءَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ ٱ ل نّ ُذُرُ ٤١
EN · Sahih Intl. And there certainly came to the people of Pharaoh warning.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 42
كَذَّبُواۡ بِـَٔـايَـٰ تِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذۡنَـٰ هُمۡ أَخۡذَ عَزِيزٍ م ُّقۡ تَدِرٍ ٤٢
EN · Sahih Intl. They denied Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with a seizure of one Exalted in Might and Perfect in Ability.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 43
أَكُفَّارُكُمۡ خَيۡرٌ م ِّنۡ أُوۡ لَـٰٓ ئِكُمۡ أَمۡ لَكُم ب َرَا ٓءَةٌ ف ِى ٱ ل زُّبُرِ ٤٣
EN · Sahih Intl. Are your disbelievers better than those [former ones], or have you immunity in the scriptures?
Al-Qamar • Ayah 44
أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ نَحۡنُ جَمِيعٌ م ُّنت َصِرٌ ٤٤
EN · Sahih Intl. Or do they say, "We are an assembly supporting [each other]"?
Al-Qamar • Ayah 45
سَيُهۡزَمُ ٱ لۡجَمۡعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ ٱ ل دُّبُرَ ٤٥
EN · Sahih Intl. [Their] assembly will be defeated, and they will turn their backs [in retreat].1
Al-Qamar • Ayah 46
بَلِ ٱ ل سَّاعَةُ مَوۡعِدُهُمۡ وَٱ ل سَّاعَةُ أَدۡ هَىٰ وَأَمَرُّ ٤٦
EN · Sahih Intl. But the Hour is their appointment [for due punishment], and the Hour is more disastrous and more bitter.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 47
إِنّ َ ٱ لۡمُجۡ رِمِينَ فِى ضَلَـٰ لٍ و َسُعُرٍ ٤٧
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, the criminals are in error and madness.1.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 48
يَوۡمَ يُسۡحَبُونَ فِى ٱ ل نّ َارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمۡ ذُوقُواۡ مَسَّ سَقَرَ ٤٨
EN · Sahih Intl. The Day they are dragged into the Fire on their faces [it will be said], "Taste the touch of Saqar."1
Al-Qamar • Ayah 49
إِنّ َا كُلَّ شَىۡءٍ خَلَقۡ نَـٰ هُ بِقَدَرٍ ٤٩
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, all things We created with predestination.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 50
وَمَآ أَمۡرُنَآ إِلَّا وٰ ةٌ ك َلَمۡحِۭ ب ِٱ لۡبَصَرِ ٥٠
EN · Sahih Intl. And Our command is but one, like a glance of the eye.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 51
وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَآ أَشۡيَاعَكُمۡ فَهَلۡ مِن م ُّدَّكِرٍ ٥١
EN · Sahih Intl. And We have already destroyed your kinds,1 so is there any who will remember?
Al-Qamar • Ayah 52
وَكُلُّ شَىۡءٍ ف َعَلُوهُ فِى ٱ ل زُّبُرِ ٥٢
EN · Sahih Intl. And everything they did is in written records.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 53
وَكُلُّ صَغِيرٍ و َكَبِيرٍ م ُّسۡتَطَرٌ ٥٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And every small and great [thing] is inscribed.
Al-Qamar • Ayah 54
إِنّ َ ٱ لۡمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنّ َـٰ تٍ و َنَهَرٍ ٥٤
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and rivers,
Al-Qamar • Ayah 55
فِى مَقۡ عَدِ صِدۡ قٍ عِند َ مَلِيكٍ م ُّقۡ تَدِرِۭ ٥٥
EN · Sahih Intl. In a seat of honor near a Sovereign, Perfect in Ability.1
