52. At-Tur (49 Ayahs)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
At-Tur • Ayah 2
وَكِتَـٰ بٍ م َّسۡطُو رٍ ٢
EN · Sahih Intl. And [by] a Book inscribed1
At-Tur • Ayah 3
فِى رَقٍّ م َّنش ُو رٍ ٣
EN · Sahih Intl. In parchment spread open
At-Tur • Ayah 4
وَٱ لۡبَيۡتِ ٱ لۡمَعۡمُو رِ ٤
EN · Sahih Intl. And [by] the frequented House1
At-Tur • Ayah 5
وَٱ ل سَّقۡ فِ ٱ لۡمَرۡفُو عِ ٥
EN · Sahih Intl. And [by] the ceiling [i.e., heaven] raised high
At-Tur • Ayah 6
وَٱ لۡبَحۡرِ ٱ لۡمَسۡجُو رِ ٦
EN · Sahih Intl. And [by] the sea set on fire,1
At-Tur • Ayah 7
إِنّ َ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوٰ
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur.
At-Tur • Ayah 8
مَّا لَهُۥ مِن د َافِعٍ ٨
EN · Sahih Intl. Of it there is no preventer.
At-Tur • Ayah 9
يَوۡمَ تَمُورُ ٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءُ مَوۡرًا ٩
EN · Sahih Intl. On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion
At-Tur • Ayah 10
وَتَسِيرُ ٱ لۡجِبَالُ سَيۡرًا ١٠
EN · Sahih Intl. And the mountains will pass on, departing1 -
At-Tur • Ayah 11
فَوَيۡلٌ ي َوۡمَئِذٍ ل ِّلۡمُكَذِّبِي نَ ١١
EN · Sahih Intl. Then woe, that Day, to the deniers,
At-Tur • Ayah 12
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ فِى خَوۡضٍ ي َلۡعَبُو نَ ١٢
EN · Sahih Intl. Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves.
At-Tur • Ayah 13
يَوۡمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنّ َمَ دَعًّا ١٣
EN · Sahih Intl. The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say],
At-Tur • Ayah 14
هَـٰ ذِهِ ٱ ل نّ َارُ ٱ لَّتِى كُنت ُم ب ِهَا تُكَذِّبُو نَ ١٤
EN · Sahih Intl. "This is the Fire which you used to deny.
At-Tur • Ayah 15
أَفَسِحۡرٌ هَـٰ ذَآ أَمۡ أَنت ُمۡ لَا تُبۡ صِرُو نَ ١٥
EN · Sahih Intl. Then is this magic, or do you not see?
At-Tur • Ayah 16
ٱصۡلَوۡهَا فَٱ صۡبِرُوٓ اۡ أَوۡ لَا تَصۡبِرُواۡ سَوَا ٓءٌ عَلَيۡكُمۡۖ إِنّ َمَا تُجۡ زَوۡنَ مَا كُنت ُمۡ تَعۡمَلُو نَ ١٦
EN · Sahih Intl. [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do."
At-Tur • Ayah 17
إِنّ َ ٱ لۡمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنّ َـٰ تٍ و َنَعِي مٍ ١٧
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure,
At-Tur • Ayah 18
فَـٰ كِهِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَـٰ هُمۡ رَبُّهُمۡ وَوَقَـٰ هُمۡ رَبُّهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱ لۡجَحِي مِ ١٨
EN · Sahih Intl. Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire.
At-Tur • Ayah 19
كُلُواۡ وَٱ شۡرَبُواۡ هَنِيٓـ ــَٔۢا ب ِمَا كُنت ُمۡ تَعۡمَلُو نَ ١٩
EN · Sahih Intl. [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do."
At-Tur • Ayah 20
مُتَّكِــِٔينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ م َّصۡفُوفَةٍۖ و َزَوَّجۡ نَـٰ هُم ب ِحُورٍ عِي نٍ ٢٠
EN · Sahih Intl. They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes.
At-Tur • Ayah 21
وَٱ لَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواۡ وَٱ تَّبَعَتۡهُمۡ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم ب ِإِيمَـٰ نٍ أَلۡحَقۡ نَا بِهِمۡ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمۡ وَمَآ أَلَتۡنَـٰ هُم م ِّنۡ عَمَلِهِم م ِّن ش َىۡءٍۚ ك ُلُّ ٱ مۡرِىِٕۭ ب ِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِي نٌ ٢١
EN · Sahih Intl. And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds.1 Every person, for what he earned, is retained.2
At-Tur • Ayah 22
وَأَمۡدَدۡ نَـٰ هُم ب ِفَـٰ كِهَةٍ و َلَحۡمٍ م ِّمّ َا يَشۡتَهُو نَ ٢٢
EN · Sahih Intl. And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire.
At-Tur • Ayah 23
يَتَنَـٰ زَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأۡسًا ل َّا لَغۡوٌ ف ِيهَا وَلَا تَأۡثِي مٌ ٢٣
EN · Sahih Intl. They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or commission of sin.
At-Tur • Ayah 24
۞وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غِلۡمَانٌ ل َّهُمۡ كَأَنّ َهُمۡ لُؤۡلُؤٌ م َّكۡنُو نٌ ٢٤
EN · Sahih Intl. There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected.
At-Tur • Ayah 25
وَأَقۡ بَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٍ ي َتَسَا ٓءَلُو نَ ٢٥
EN · Sahih Intl. And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other.
At-Tur • Ayah 26
قَالُوٓ اۡ إِنّ َا كُنّ َا قَبۡ لُ فِىٓ أَهۡلِنَا مُشۡفِقِي نَ ٢٦
EN · Sahih Intl. They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allāh].
At-Tur • Ayah 27
فَمَنّ َ ٱ للَّهُ عَلَيۡنَا وَوَقَـٰ نَا عَذَابَ ٱ ل سَّمُو مِ ٢٧
EN · Sahih Intl. So Allāh conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire.
At-Tur • Ayah 28
إِنّ َا كُنّ َا مِن ق َبۡ لُ نَدۡ عُوهُۖ إِنّ َهُۥ هُوَ ٱ لۡبَرُّ ٱ ل رَّحِي مُ ٢٨
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, we used to supplicate1 Him before. Indeed, it is He who is the Beneficent, the Merciful."
At-Tur • Ayah 29
فَذَكِّرۡ فَمَآ أَنت َ بِنِعۡمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ و َلَا مَجۡ نُو نٍ ٢٩
EN · Sahih Intl. So remind, [O Muḥammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman.
At-Tur • Ayah 30
أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌ ن َّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِۦ رَيۡبَ ٱ لۡمَنُو نِ ٣٠
EN · Sahih Intl. Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time"?1
At-Tur • Ayah 31
قُلۡ تَرَبَّصُواۡ فَإِنّ ِى مَعَكُم م ِّنَ ٱ لۡمُتَرَبِّصِي نَ ٣١
EN · Sahih Intl. Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters."
At-Tur • Ayah 32
أَمۡ تَأۡمُرُهُمۡ أَحۡلَـٰ مُهُم ب ِهَـٰ ذَآۚ أَمۡ هُمۡ قَوۡمٌ ط َاغُو نَ ٣٢
EN · Sahih Intl. Or do their minds1 command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people?
At-Tur • Ayah 33
أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُۥ ۚ بَل لَّا يُؤۡمِنُو نَ ٣٣
EN · Sahih Intl. Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe.
At-Tur • Ayah 34
فَلۡيَأۡتُواۡ بِحَدِيثٍ م ِّثۡلِهِۦٓ إِن ك َانُواۡ صَـٰ دِقِي نَ ٣٤
EN · Sahih Intl. Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful.
At-Tur • Ayah 35
أَمۡ خُلِقُواۡ مِنۡ غَيۡرِ شَىۡءٍ أَمۡ هُمُ ٱ لۡخَـٰ لِقُو نَ ٣٥
EN · Sahih Intl. Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]?
At-Tur • Ayah 36
أَمۡ خَلَقُواۡ ٱ ل سَّمَـٰ وٰ ٱ لۡأَرۡضَۚ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُو نَ ٣٦
EN · Sahih Intl. Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain.
At-Tur • Ayah 37
أَمۡ عِند َهُمۡ خَزَا ٓئِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمۡ هُمُ ٱ لۡمُصَۣيۡطِرُو نَ ٣٧
EN · Sahih Intl. Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]?
At-Tur • Ayah 38
أَمۡ لَهُمۡ سُلَّمٌ ي َسۡتَمِعُونَ فِيهِۖ فَلۡيَأۡتِ مُسۡتَمِعُهُم ب ِسُلۡطَـٰ نٍ م ُّبِي نٍ ٣٨
EN · Sahih Intl. Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority [i.e., proof].
At-Tur • Ayah 39
أَمۡ لَهُ ٱ لۡبَنَـٰ تُ وَلَكُمُ ٱ لۡبَنُو نَ ٣٩
EN · Sahih Intl. Or has He daughters while you have sons?
At-Tur • Ayah 40
أَمۡ تَسۡــَٔلُهُمۡ أَجۡ رًا ف َهُم م ِّن م َّغۡرَمٍ م ُّثۡقَلُو نَ ٤٠
EN · Sahih Intl. Or do you, [O Muḥammad], ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down?
At-Tur • Ayah 41
أَمۡ عِند َهُمُ ٱ لۡغَيۡبُ فَهُمۡ يَكۡتُبُو نَ ٤١
EN · Sahih Intl. Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down?
At-Tur • Ayah 42
أَمۡ يُرِيدُونَ كَيۡدًاۖ ف َٱ لَّذِينَ كَفَرُواۡ هُمُ ٱ لۡمَكِيدُو نَ ٤٢
EN · Sahih Intl. Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan.
At-Tur • Ayah 43
أَمۡ لَهُمۡ إِلَـٰ هٌ غَيۡرُ ٱ للَّهِۚ سُبۡ حَـٰ نَ ٱ للَّهِ عَمّ َا يُشۡرِكُو نَ ٤٣
EN · Sahih Intl. Or have they a deity other than Allāh? Exalted is Allāh above whatever they associate with Him.
At-Tur • Ayah 44
وَإِن ي َرَوۡاۡ كِسۡفًا م ِّنَ ٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ سَاقِطًا ي َقُولُواۡ سَحَابٌ م َّرۡكُو مٌ ٤٤
EN · Sahih Intl. And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling,1 they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up."
At-Tur • Ayah 45
فَذَرۡهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ يُلَـٰ قُواۡ يَوۡمَهُمُ ٱ لَّذِى فِيهِ يُصۡعَقُو نَ ٤٥
EN · Sahih Intl. So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible -
At-Tur • Ayah 46
يَوۡمَ لَا يُغۡنِى عَنۡهُمۡ كَيۡدُهُمۡ شَيۡــًٔا و َلَا هُمۡ يُنص َرُو نَ ٤٦
EN · Sahih Intl. The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped.
At-Tur • Ayah 47
وَإِنّ َ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواۡ عَذَابًا د ُونَ ذٰ ـٰ كِنّ َ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُو نَ ٤٧
EN · Sahih Intl. And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment1 before that, but most of them do not know.
At-Tur • Ayah 48
وَٱ صۡبِرۡ لِحُكۡمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنّ َكَ بِأَعۡيُنِنَاۖ وَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُو مُ ٤٨
EN · Sahih Intl. And be patient, [O Muḥammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes [i.e., sight]. And exalt [Allāh] with praise of your Lord when you arise
At-Tur • Ayah 49
وَمِنَ ٱ لَّيۡلِ فَسَبِّحۡهُ وَإِدۡ بَـٰ رَ ٱ ل نّ ُجُو مِ ٤٩
EN · Sahih Intl. And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars.
