37. As-Saffat 182 Ayahs Reader menu
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

As-Saffat • Ayah 1
وَٱلصَّـٰٓفَّـٰتِ صَفًّا ١
EN · Sahih Intl. By those [angels] lined up in rows
As-Saffat • Ayah 2
فَٱلزّٰجِرٰتِ زَجۡرًا ٢
EN · Sahih Intl. And those who drive [the clouds]
As-Saffat • Ayah 3
فَٱلتَّـٰلِيَـٰتِ ذِكۡرًا ٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And those who recite the message,1
As-Saffat • Ayah 4
إِنَّ إِلَـٰهَكُمۡ لَوٰحِدٌ ٤
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, your God is One,
As-Saffat • Ayah 5
رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلۡمَشَـٰرِقِ ٥
EN · Sahih Intl. Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises.1
As-Saffat • Ayah 6
إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا بِزِينَةٍ ٱلۡكَوَاكِبِ ٦
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars
As-Saffat • Ayah 7
وَحِفۡظًا مِّن كُلِّ شَيۡطَـٰنٍ مَّارِدٍ ٧
EN · Sahih Intl. And as protection against every rebellious devil
As-Saffat • Ayah 8
لَّا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلۡمَلَإِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ وَيُقۡذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٍ ٨
EN · Sahih Intl. [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side,1
As-Saffat • Ayah 9
دُحُورًا‌ۖ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ وَاصِبٌ ٩
EN · Sahih Intl. Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment,
As-Saffat • Ayah 10
إِلَّا مَنۡ خَطِفَ ٱلۡخَطۡفَةَ فَأَتۡبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ ثَاقِبٌ ١٠
EN · Sahih Intl. Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness].
As-Saffat • Ayah 11
فَٱسۡتَفۡتِهِمۡ أَهُمۡ أَشَدُّ خَلۡقًا أَم مَّنۡ خَلَقۡنَآ‌ۚ إِنَّا خَلَقۡنَـٰهُم مِّن طِينٍ لَّازِبِۭ ١١
EN · Sahih Intl. Then inquire of them, [O Muḥammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created them [i.e., men] from sticky clay.
As-Saffat • Ayah 12
بَلۡ عَجِبۡتَ وَيَسۡخَرُونَ ١٢
EN · Sahih Intl. But you wonder, while they mock,
As-Saffat • Ayah 13
وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُواۡ لَا يَذۡكُرُونَ ١٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And when they are reminded, they remember not.
As-Saffat • Ayah 14
وَإِذَا رَأَوۡاۡ ءَايَةً يَسۡتَسۡخِرُونَ ١٤
EN · Sahih Intl. And when they see a sign, they ridicule.
As-Saffat • Ayah 15
وَقَالُوٓاۡ إِنۡ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحۡرٌ مُّبِينٌ ١٥
EN · Sahih Intl. And say, "This is not but obvious magic.
As-Saffat • Ayah 16
أَءِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ ١٦
EN · Sahih Intl. When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?
As-Saffat • Ayah 17
أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ ١٧
EN · Sahih Intl. And our forefathers [as well]?"
As-Saffat • Ayah 18
قُلۡ نَعَمۡ وَأَنتُمۡ دٰخِرُونَ ١٨
EN · Sahih Intl. Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible."
As-Saffat • Ayah 19
فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجۡرَةٌ وٰحِدَةٌ فَإِذَا هُمۡ يَنظُرُونَ ١٩
EN · Sahih Intl. It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing.
As-Saffat • Ayah 20
وَقَالُواۡ يَـٰوَيۡلَنَا هَـٰذَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ ٢٠
EN · Sahih Intl. They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense."
As-Saffat • Ayah 21
هَـٰذَا يَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ ٢١
EN · Sahih Intl. [They will be told], "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny."
As-Saffat • Ayah 22
۞ٱحۡشُرُواۡ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواۡ وَأَزۡوٰجَهُمۡ وَمَا كَانُواۡ يَعۡبُدُونَ ٢٢
EN · Sahih Intl. [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds,1 and what they used to worship
As-Saffat • Ayah 23
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهۡدُوهُمۡ إِلَىٰ صِرٰطِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ ٢٣
EN · Sahih Intl. Other than Allāh, and guide them to the path of Hellfire
As-Saffat • Ayah 24
وَقِفُوهُمۡ‌ۖ إِنَّهُم مَّسۡــُٔولُونَ ٢٤
EN · Sahih Intl. And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned."
As-Saffat • Ayah 25
مَا لَكُمۡ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ ٢٥
EN · Sahih Intl. [They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?"
As-Saffat • Ayah 26
بَلۡ هُمُ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ مُسۡتَسۡلِمُونَ ٢٦
EN · Sahih Intl. But they, that Day, are in surrender.
As-Saffat • Ayah 27
وَأَقۡبَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ ٢٧
EN · Sahih Intl. And they will approach one another asking [i.e., blaming] each other.
As-Saffat • Ayah 28
قَالُوٓاۡ إِنَّكُمۡ كُنتُمۡ تَأۡتُونَنَا عَنِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ ٢٨
EN · Sahih Intl. They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right."1
As-Saffat • Ayah 29
قَالُواۡ بَل لَّمۡ تَكُونُواۡ مُؤۡمِنِينَ ٢٩
EN · Sahih Intl. They [i.e., the oppressors] will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers,
As-Saffat • Ayah 30
وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيۡكُم مِّن سُلۡطَـٰنِۭ‌ۖ بَلۡ كُنتُمۡ قَوۡمًا طَـٰغِينَ ٣٠
EN · Sahih Intl. And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people.
As-Saffat • Ayah 31
فَحَقَّ عَلَيۡنَا قَوۡلُ رَبِّنَآ‌ۖ إِنَّا لَذَآئِقُونَ ٣١
EN · Sahih Intl. So the word [i.e., decree] of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment].
As-Saffat • Ayah 32
فَأَغۡوَيۡنَـٰكُمۡ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَـٰوِينَ ٣٢
EN · Sahih Intl. And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators."
As-Saffat • Ayah 33
فَإِنَّهُمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٍ فِى ٱلۡعَذَابِ مُشۡتَرِكُونَ ٣٣
EN · Sahih Intl. So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment.
As-Saffat • Ayah 34
إِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَفۡعَلُ بِٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ ٣٤
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals.
As-Saffat • Ayah 35
إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوٓاۡ إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمۡ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ ٣٥
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allāh," were arrogant
As-Saffat • Ayah 36
وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوٓاۡ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَّجۡنُونِۭ ٣٦
EN · Sahih Intl. And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?"
As-Saffat • Ayah 37
بَلۡ جَآءَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ ٣٧
EN · Sahih Intl. Rather, he [i.e., the Prophet (ﷺ)] has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers.
As-Saffat • Ayah 38
إِنَّكُمۡ لَذَآئِقُواۡ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡأَلِيمِ ٣٨
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment,
As-Saffat • Ayah 39
وَمَا تُجۡزَوۡنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ ٣٩
EN · Sahih Intl. And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do -
As-Saffat • Ayah 40
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ ٤٠
EN · Sahih Intl. But not the chosen servants of Allāh.
As-Saffat • Ayah 41
أُوۡلَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمۡ رِزۡقٌ مَّعۡلُومٌ ٤١
EN · Sahih Intl. Those will have a provision determined -
As-Saffat • Ayah 42
فَوٰكِهُ‌ۖ وَهُم مُّكۡرَمُونَ ٤٢
EN · Sahih Intl. Fruits;1 and they will be honored
As-Saffat • Ayah 43
فِى جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ٤٣
EN · Sahih Intl. In gardens of pleasure
As-Saffat • Ayah 44
عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ ٤٤
EN · Sahih Intl. On thrones facing one another.
As-Saffat • Ayah 45
يُطَافُ عَلَيۡهِم بِكَأۡسٍ مِّن مَّعِينِۭ ٤٥
EN · Sahih Intl. There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring,
As-Saffat • Ayah 46
بَيۡضَآءَ لَذَّةٍ لِّلشَّـٰرِبِينَ ٤٦
EN · Sahih Intl. White and delicious to the drinkers;
As-Saffat • Ayah 47
لَا فِيهَا غَوۡلٌ وَلَا هُمۡ عَنۡهَا يُنزَفُونَ ٤٧
EN · Sahih Intl. No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated.
As-Saffat • Ayah 48
وَعِندَهُمۡ قَـٰصِرٰتُ ٱلطَّرۡفِ عِينٌ ٤٨
EN · Sahih Intl. And with them will be women limiting [their] glances,1 with large, [beautiful] eyes,
As-Saffat • Ayah 49
كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيۡضٌ مَّكۡنُونٌ ٤٩
EN · Sahih Intl. As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected.
As-Saffat • Ayah 50
فَأَقۡبَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ ٥٠
EN · Sahih Intl. And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other.
As-Saffat • Ayah 51
قَالَ قَآئِلٌ مِّنۡهُمۡ إِنِّى كَانَ لِى قَرِينٌ ٥١
EN · Sahih Intl. A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth].
As-Saffat • Ayah 52
يَقُولُ أَءِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُصَدِّقِينَ ٥٢
EN · Sahih Intl. Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe
As-Saffat • Ayah 53
أَءِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ ٥٣
EN · Sahih Intl. That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'"
As-Saffat • Ayah 54
قَالَ هَلۡ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ ٥٤
EN · Sahih Intl. He will say,1 "Would you [care to] look?"
As-Saffat • Ayah 55
فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِى سَوَآءِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ ٥٥
EN · Sahih Intl. And he will look and see him1 in the midst of the Hellfire.
As-Saffat • Ayah 56
قَالَ تَٱللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرۡدِينِ ٥٦
EN · Sahih Intl. He will say, "By Allāh, you almost ruined me.
As-Saffat • Ayah 57
وَلَوۡلَا نِعۡمَةُ رَبِّى لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُحۡضَرِينَ ٥٧
EN · Sahih Intl. If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell].
As-Saffat • Ayah 58
أَفَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ ٥٨
EN · Sahih Intl. Then, are we not to die
As-Saffat • Ayah 59
إِلَّا مَوۡتَتَنَا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ ٥٩
EN · Sahih Intl. Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?"
As-Saffat • Ayah 60
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ ٦٠
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, this is the great attainment.
As-Saffat • Ayah 61
لِمِثۡلِ هَـٰذَا فَلۡيَعۡمَلِ ٱلۡعَـٰمِلُونَ ٦١
EN · Sahih Intl. For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work.
As-Saffat • Ayah 62
أَذٰلِكَ خَيۡرٌ نُّزُلاً أَمۡ شَجَرَةُ ٱلزَّقُّومِ ٦٢
EN · Sahih Intl. Is that [i.e., Paradise] a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqūm?
As-Saffat • Ayah 63
إِنَّا جَعَلۡنَـٰهَا فِتۡنَةً لِّلظَّـٰلِمِينَ ٦٣
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers.
As-Saffat • Ayah 64
إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌ تَخۡرُجُ فِىٓ أَصۡلِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ ٦٤
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire,
As-Saffat • Ayah 65
طَلۡعُهَا كَأَنَّهُۥ رُءُوسُ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ ٦٥
EN · Sahih Intl. Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils.
As-Saffat • Ayah 66
فَإِنَّهُمۡ لَأَكِلُونَ مِنۡهَا فَمَالِــُٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ ٦٦
EN · Sahih Intl. And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies.
As-Saffat • Ayah 67
ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمۡ عَلَيۡهَا لَشَوۡبًا مِّنۡ حَمِيمٍ ٦٧
EN · Sahih Intl. Then indeed, they will have after it a mixture of scalding water.
As-Saffat • Ayah 68
ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرۡجِعَهُمۡ لَإِلَى ٱلۡجَحِيمِ ٦٨
EN · Sahih Intl. Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire.
As-Saffat • Ayah 69
إِنَّهُمۡ أَلۡفَوۡاۡ ءَابَآءَهُمۡ ضَآلِّينَ ٦٩
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed they found their fathers astray.
As-Saffat • Ayah 70
فَهُمۡ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِهِمۡ يُهۡرَعُونَ ٧٠
EN · Sahih Intl. So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps.
As-Saffat • Ayah 71
وَلَقَدۡ ضَلَّ قَبۡلَهُمۡ أَكۡثَرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ ٧١
EN · Sahih Intl. And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples,
As-Saffat • Ayah 72
وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ ٧٢
EN · Sahih Intl. And We had already sent among them warners.
As-Saffat • Ayah 73
فَٱنظُرۡ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلۡمُنذَرِينَ ٧٣
EN · Sahih Intl. Then look how was the end of those who were warned -
As-Saffat • Ayah 74
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ ٧٤
EN · Sahih Intl. But not the chosen servants of Allāh.
As-Saffat • Ayah 75
وَلَقَدۡ نَادَٮٰنَا نُوحٌ فَلَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡمُجِيبُونَ ٧٥
EN · Sahih Intl. And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders.
As-Saffat • Ayah 76
وَنَجَّيۡنَـٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلۡكَرۡبِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ ٧٦
EN · Sahih Intl. And We saved him and his family from the great affliction.
As-Saffat • Ayah 77
وَجَعَلۡنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥ هُمُ ٱلۡبَاقِينَ ٧٧
EN · Sahih Intl. And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth]
As-Saffat • Ayah 78
وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ فِى ٱلۡأَخِرِينَ ٧٨
EN · Sahih Intl. And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations:
As-Saffat • Ayah 79
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰ نُوحٍ فِى ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ ٧٩
EN · Sahih Intl. "Peace upon Noah among the worlds."
As-Saffat • Ayah 80
إِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجۡزِى ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ ٨٠
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.
As-Saffat • Ayah 81
إِنَّهُۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ ٨١
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.
As-Saffat • Ayah 82
ثُمَّ أَغۡرَقۡنَا ٱلۡأَخَرِينَ ٨٢
EN · Sahih Intl. Then We drowned the others [i.e., disbelievers].
As-Saffat • Ayah 83
۞وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ لَإِبۡرٰهِيمَ ٨٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And indeed, among his kind was Abraham,
As-Saffat • Ayah 84
إِذۡ جَآءَ رَبَّهُۥ بِقَلۡبٍ سَلِيمٍ ٨٤
EN · Sahih Intl. When he came to his Lord with a sound heart
As-Saffat • Ayah 85
إِذۡ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوۡمِهِۦ مَاذَا تَعۡبُدُونَ ٨٥
EN · Sahih Intl. [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?
As-Saffat • Ayah 86
أَئِفۡكًا ءَالِهَةً دُونَ ٱللَّهِ تُرِيدُونَ ٨٦
EN · Sahih Intl. Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allāh you desire?
As-Saffat • Ayah 87
فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ ٨٧
EN · Sahih Intl. Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?"
As-Saffat • Ayah 88
فَنَظَرَ نَظۡرَةً فِى ٱلنُّجُومِ ٨٨
EN · Sahih Intl. And he cast a look at the stars.
As-Saffat • Ayah 89
فَقَالَ إِنِّى سَقِيمٌ ٨٩
EN · Sahih Intl. And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill."
As-Saffat • Ayah 90
فَتَوَلَّوۡاۡ عَنۡهُ مُدۡبِرِينَ ٩٠
EN · Sahih Intl. So they turned away from him, departing.
As-Saffat • Ayah 91
فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِهِمۡ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَأۡكُلُونَ ٩١
EN · Sahih Intl. Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat?1
As-Saffat • Ayah 92
مَا لَكُمۡ لَا تَنطِقُونَ ٩٢
EN · Sahih Intl. What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?".
As-Saffat • Ayah 93
فَرَاغَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ضَرۡبَۢا بِٱلۡيَمِينِ ٩٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand.
As-Saffat • Ayah 94
فَأَقۡبَلُوٓاۡ إِلَيۡهِ يَزِفُّونَ ٩٤
EN · Sahih Intl. Then they [i.e., the people] came toward him, hastening.
As-Saffat • Ayah 95
قَالَ أَتَعۡبُدُونَ مَا تَنۡحِتُونَ ٩٥
EN · Sahih Intl. He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve,
As-Saffat • Ayah 96
وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ ٩٦
EN · Sahih Intl. While Allāh created you and that which you do?"
As-Saffat • Ayah 97
قَالُواۡ ٱبۡنُواۡ لَهُۥ بُنۡيَـٰنًا فَأَلۡقُوهُ فِى ٱلۡجَحِيمِ ٩٧
EN · Sahih Intl. They said, "Construct for him a structure [i.e., furnace] and throw him into the burning fire."
As-Saffat • Ayah 98
فَأَرَادُواۡ بِهِۦ كَيۡدًا فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمُ ٱلۡأَسۡفَلِينَ ٩٨
EN · Sahih Intl. And they intended for him a plan [i.e., harm], but We made them the most debased.
As-Saffat • Ayah 99
وَقَالَ إِنِّى ذَاهِبٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّى سَيَهۡدِينِ ٩٩
EN · Sahih Intl. And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me.
As-Saffat • Ayah 100
رَبِّ هَبۡ لِى مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ ١٠٠
EN · Sahih Intl. My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous."
As-Saffat • Ayah 101
فَبَشَّرۡنَـٰهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ حَلِيمٍ ١٠١
EN · Sahih Intl. So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy.
As-Saffat • Ayah 102
فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعۡىَ قَالَ يَـٰبُنَىَّ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰ فِى ٱلۡمَنَامِ أَنِّىٓ أَذۡبَحُكَ فَٱنظُرۡ مَاذَا تَرَىٰ‌ۚ قَالَ يَـٰٓأَبَتِ ٱفۡعَلۡ مَا تُؤۡمَرُ‌ۖ سَتَجِدُنِىٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ ١٠٢
EN · Sahih Intl. And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion,1 he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allāh wills, of the steadfast."
As-Saffat • Ayah 103
فَلَمَّآ أَسۡلَمَا وَتَلَّهُۥ لِلۡجَبِينِ ١٠٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And when they had both submitted1 and he put him down upon his forehead,
As-Saffat • Ayah 104
وَنَـٰدَيۡنَـٰهُ أَن يَـٰٓإِبۡرٰهِيمُ ١٠٤
EN · Sahih Intl. We called to him, "O Abraham,
As-Saffat • Ayah 105
قَدۡ صَدَّقۡتَ ٱلرُّءۡيَآ‌ۚ إِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجۡزِى ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ ١٠٥
EN · Sahih Intl. You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.
As-Saffat • Ayah 106
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلۡبَلَـٰٓؤُاۡ ٱلۡمُبِينُ ١٠٦
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, this was the clear trial.
As-Saffat • Ayah 107
وَفَدَيۡنَـٰهُ بِذِبۡحٍ عَظِيمٍ ١٠٧
EN · Sahih Intl. And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice,1
As-Saffat • Ayah 108
وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ فِى ٱلۡأَخِرِينَ ١٠٨
EN · Sahih Intl. And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations:
As-Saffat • Ayah 109
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِبۡرٰهِيمَ ١٠٩
EN · Sahih Intl. "Peace upon Abraham."
As-Saffat • Ayah 110
كَذٰلِكَ نَجۡزِى ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ ١١٠
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.
As-Saffat • Ayah 111
إِنَّهُۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ ١١١
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.
As-Saffat • Ayah 112
وَبَشَّرۡنَـٰهُ بِإِسۡحَـٰقَ نَبِيًّا مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ ١١٢
EN · Sahih Intl. And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous.1
As-Saffat • Ayah 113
وَبَـٰرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ وَعَلَىٰٓ إِسۡحَـٰقَ‌ۚ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحۡسِنٌ وَظَالِمٌ لِّنَفۡسِهِۦ مُبِينٌ ١١٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself [i.e., sinner].
As-Saffat • Ayah 114
وَلَقَدۡ مَنَنَّا عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ ١١٤
EN · Sahih Intl. And We did certainly confer favor upon Moses and Aaron.
As-Saffat • Ayah 115
وَنَجَّيۡنَـٰهُمَا وَقَوۡمَهُمَا مِنَ ٱلۡكَرۡبِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ ١١٥
EN · Sahih Intl. And We saved them and their people from the great affliction,
As-Saffat • Ayah 116
وَنَصَرۡنَـٰهُمۡ فَكَانُواۡ هُمُ ٱلۡغَـٰلِبِينَ ١١٦
EN · Sahih Intl. And We supported them so it was they who overcame.
As-Saffat • Ayah 117
وَءَاتَيۡنَـٰهُمَا ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَبِينَ ١١٧
EN · Sahih Intl. And We gave them the explicit Scripture [i.e., the Torah],
As-Saffat • Ayah 118
وَهَدَيۡنَـٰهُمَا ٱلصِّرٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ ١١٨
EN · Sahih Intl. And We guided them on the straight path.
As-Saffat • Ayah 119
وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمَا فِى ٱلۡأَخِرِينَ ١١٩
EN · Sahih Intl. And We left for them [favorable mention] among later generations:
As-Saffat • Ayah 120
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ ١٢٠
EN · Sahih Intl. "Peace upon Moses and Aaron."
As-Saffat • Ayah 121
إِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجۡزِى ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ ١٢١
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.
As-Saffat • Ayah 122
إِنَّهُمَا مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ ١٢٢
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, they were of Our believing servants.
As-Saffat • Ayah 123
وَإِنَّ إِلۡيَاسَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ ١٢٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And indeed, Elias was from among the messengers,
As-Saffat • Ayah 124
إِذۡ قَالَ لِقَوۡمِهِۦٓ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ١٢٤
EN · Sahih Intl. When he said to his people, "Will you not fear Allāh?
As-Saffat • Ayah 125
أَتَدۡعُونَ بَعۡلاً وَتَذَرُونَ أَحۡسَنَ ٱلۡخَـٰلِقِينَ ١٢٥
EN · Sahih Intl. Do you call upon Baʿl1 and leave the best of creators -
As-Saffat • Ayah 126
ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمۡ وَرَبَّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ ١٢٦
EN · Sahih Intl. Allāh, your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers?"
As-Saffat • Ayah 127
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمۡ لَمُحۡضَرُونَ ١٢٧
EN · Sahih Intl. And they denied him, so indeed, they will be brought [for punishment],
As-Saffat • Ayah 128
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ ١٢٨
EN · Sahih Intl. Except the chosen servants of Allāh.
As-Saffat • Ayah 129
وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ فِى ٱلۡأَخِرِينَ ١٢٩
EN · Sahih Intl. And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations:
As-Saffat • Ayah 130
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِلۡ يَاسِينَ
EN · Sahih Intl. "Peace upon Elias."1
As-Saffat • Ayah 131
إِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجۡزِى ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ ١٣١
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.
As-Saffat • Ayah 132
إِنَّهُۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ ١٣٢
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.
As-Saffat • Ayah 133
وَإِنَّ لُوطًا لَّمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ ١٣٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And indeed, Lot was among the messengers.
As-Saffat • Ayah 134
إِذۡ نَجَّيۡنَـٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُۥٓ أَجۡمَعِينَ ١٣٤
EN · Sahih Intl. [So mention] when We saved him and his family, all,
As-Saffat • Ayah 135
إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلۡغَـٰبِرِينَ ١٣٥
EN · Sahih Intl. Except an old woman [i.e., his wife] among those who remained [with the evildoers].
As-Saffat • Ayah 136
ثُمَّ دَمَّرۡنَا ٱلۡأَخَرِينَ ١٣٦
EN · Sahih Intl. Then We destroyed the others.
As-Saffat • Ayah 137
وَإِنَّكُمۡ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيۡهِم مُّصۡبِحِينَ ١٣٧
EN · Sahih Intl. And indeed, you pass by them in the morning
As-Saffat • Ayah 138
وَبِٱلَّيۡلِ‌ۗ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ ١٣٨
EN · Sahih Intl. And at night. Then will you not use reason?
As-Saffat • Ayah 139
وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ ١٣٩
EN · Sahih Intl. And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers.
As-Saffat • Ayah 140
إِذۡ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلۡفُلۡكِ ٱلۡمَشۡحُونِ ١٤٠
EN · Sahih Intl. [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship.
As-Saffat • Ayah 141
فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُدۡحَضِينَ ١٤١
EN · Sahih Intl. And he drew lots1 and was among the losers.
As-Saffat • Ayah 142
فَٱلۡتَقَمَهُ ٱلۡحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ ١٤٢
EN · Sahih Intl. Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy.1
As-Saffat • Ayah 143
فَلَوۡلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُسَبِّحِينَ ١٤٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And had he not been of those who exalt Allāh,
As-Saffat • Ayah 144
لَلَبِثَ فِى بَطۡنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ يُبۡعَثُونَ ١٤٤
EN · Sahih Intl. He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected.1
As-Saffat • Ayah 145
۞فَنَبَذۡنَـٰهُ بِٱلۡعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌ ١٤٥
EN · Sahih Intl. But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill.
As-Saffat • Ayah 146
وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ شَجَرَةً مِّن يَقۡطِينٍ ١٤٦
EN · Sahih Intl. And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine.1
As-Saffat • Ayah 147
وَأَرۡسَلۡنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِاۡئَةِ أَلۡفٍ أَوۡ يَزِيدُونَ ١٤٧
EN · Sahih Intl. And We sent him1 to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more.
As-Saffat • Ayah 148
فَـَٔـامَنُواۡ فَمَتَّعۡنَـٰهُمۡ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ ١٤٨
EN · Sahih Intl. And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time.
As-Saffat • Ayah 149
فَٱسۡتَفۡتِهِمۡ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلۡبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلۡبَنُونَ ١٤٩
EN · Sahih Intl. So inquire of them, [O Muḥammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons?1
As-Saffat • Ayah 150
أَمۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ إِنَـٰثًا وَهُمۡ شَـٰهِدُونَ ١٥٠
EN · Sahih Intl. Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?"
As-Saffat • Ayah 151
أَلَآ إِنَّهُم مِّنۡ إِفۡكِهِمۡ لَيَقُولُونَ ١٥١
EN · Sahih Intl. Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say,
As-Saffat • Ayah 152
وَلَدَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمۡ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ ١٥٢
EN · Sahih Intl. "Allāh has begotten," and indeed, they are liars.
As-Saffat • Ayah 153
أَصۡطَفَى ٱلۡبَنَاتِ عَلَى ٱلۡبَنِينَ ١٥٣
EN · Sahih Intl. Has He chosen daughters over sons?
As-Saffat • Ayah 154
مَا لَكُمۡ كَيۡفَ تَحۡكُمُونَ ١٥٤
EN · Sahih Intl. What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement?
As-Saffat • Ayah 155
أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ١٥٥
EN · Sahih Intl. Then will you not be reminded?
As-Saffat • Ayah 156
أَمۡ لَكُمۡ سُلۡطَـٰنٌ مُّبِينٌ ١٥٦
EN · Sahih Intl. Or do you have a clear authority?1
As-Saffat • Ayah 157
فَأۡتُواۡ بِكِتَـٰبِكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِينَ ١٥٧
EN · Sahih Intl. Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful.
As-Saffat • Ayah 158
وَجَعَلُواۡ بَيۡنَهُۥ وَبَيۡنَ ٱلۡجِنَّةِ نَسَبًا‌ۚ وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمَتِ ٱلۡجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمۡ لَمُحۡضَرُونَ ١٥٨
EN · Sahih Intl. And they have made [i.e., claimed] between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought [to punishment].
As-Saffat • Ayah 159
سُبۡحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ ١٥٩
EN · Sahih Intl. Exalted is Allāh above what they describe,
As-Saffat • Ayah 160
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ ١٦٠
EN · Sahih Intl. Except the chosen servants of Allāh [who do not share in that sin].
As-Saffat • Ayah 161
فَإِنَّكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ ١٦١
EN · Sahih Intl. So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship,
As-Saffat • Ayah 162
مَآ أَنتُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ بِفَـٰتِنِينَ ١٦٢
EN · Sahih Intl. You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him
As-Saffat • Ayah 163
إِلَّا مَنۡ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ ١٦٣
EN · Sahih Intl. Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire.1
As-Saffat • Ayah 164
وَمَا مِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامٌ مَّعۡلُومٌ ١٦٤
EN · Sahih Intl. [The angels say],1 "There is not among us any except that he has a known position.2
As-Saffat • Ayah 165
وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ ٱلصَّآفُّونَ ١٦٥
EN · Sahih Intl. And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer].
As-Saffat • Ayah 166
وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُسَبِّحُونَ ١٦٦
EN · Sahih Intl. And indeed, we are those who exalt Allāh."
As-Saffat • Ayah 167
وَإِن كَانُواۡ لَيَقُولُونَ ١٦٧
EN · Sahih Intl. And indeed, they [i.e., the disbelievers] used to say,1
As-Saffat • Ayah 168
لَوۡ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكۡرًا مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ ١٦٨
EN · Sahih Intl. "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples,
As-Saffat • Ayah 169
لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ ١٦٩
EN · Sahih Intl. We would have been the chosen servants of Allāh."
As-Saffat • Ayah 170
فَكَفَرُواۡ بِهِۦ‌ۖ فَسَوۡفَ يَعۡلَمُونَ ١٧٠
EN · Sahih Intl. But they disbelieved in it,1 so they are going to know.
As-Saffat • Ayah 171
وَلَقَدۡ سَبَقَتۡ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ ١٧١
EN · Sahih Intl. And Our word [i.e., decree] has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers,
As-Saffat • Ayah 172
إِنَّهُمۡ لَهُمُ ٱلۡمَنصُورُونَ ١٧٢
EN · Sahih Intl. [That] indeed, they would be those given victory
As-Saffat • Ayah 173
وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ ٱلۡغَـٰلِبُونَ ١٧٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And [that] indeed, Our soldiers [i.e., the believers] will be those who overcome.1
As-Saffat • Ayah 174
فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ ١٧٤
EN · Sahih Intl. So, [O Muḥammad], leave them for a time.
As-Saffat • Ayah 175
وَأَبۡصِرۡهُمۡ فَسَوۡفَ يُبۡصِرُونَ ١٧٥
EN · Sahih Intl. And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see.
As-Saffat • Ayah 176
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَ ١٧٦
EN · Sahih Intl. Then for Our punishment are they impatient?
As-Saffat • Ayah 177
فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمۡ فَسَآءَ صَبَاحُ ٱلۡمُنذَرِينَ ١٧٧
EN · Sahih Intl. But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned.
As-Saffat • Ayah 178
وَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ ١٧٨
EN · Sahih Intl. And leave them for a time.
As-Saffat • Ayah 179
وَأَبۡصِرۡ فَسَوۡفَ يُبۡصِرُونَ ١٧٩
EN · Sahih Intl. And see, for they are going to see.
As-Saffat • Ayah 180
سُبۡحَـٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلۡعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ ١٨٠
EN · Sahih Intl. Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe.
As-Saffat • Ayah 181
وَسَلَـٰمٌ عَلَى ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ ١٨١
EN · Sahih Intl. And peace upon the messengers.
As-Saffat • Ayah 182
وَٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٨٢
EN · Sahih Intl. And praise to Allāh, Lord of the worlds.
