Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 1
هَلۡ أَتَـٰ كَ حَدِيثُ ٱ لۡغَـٰ شِيَةِ ١
EN · Sahih Intl. Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]?

88. Al-Ghashiyah (26 Ayahs)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 2
وُجُوهٌ ي َوۡمَئِذٍ خَـٰ شِعَةٌ ٢
EN · Sahih Intl. [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled,
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 3
عَامِلَةٌ ن َّاصِبَةٌ ٣
EN · Sahih Intl. Working [hard] and exhausted.1
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 4
تَصۡلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةً ٤
EN · Sahih Intl. They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire.
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 5
تُسۡقَىٰ مِنۡ عَيۡنٍ ءَانِيَةٍ ٥
EN · Sahih Intl. They will be given drink from a boiling spring.
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 6
لَّيۡسَ لَهُمۡ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ض َرِي عٍ ٦
EN · Sahih Intl. For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 7
لَّا يُسۡمِنُ وَلَا يُغۡنِى مِن ج ُو عٍ ٧
EN · Sahih Intl. Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger.
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 8
وُجُوهٌ ي َوۡمَئِذٍ ن َّاعِمَةٌ ٨
EN · Sahih Intl. [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure.
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 9
لِّسَعۡيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ ٩
EN · Sahih Intl. With their effort [they are] satisfied
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 10
فِى جَنّ َةٍ عَالِيَةٍ ١٠
EN · Sahih Intl. In an elevated garden,
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 11
لَّا تَسۡمَعُ فِيهَا لَـٰ غِيَةً ١١
EN · Sahih Intl. Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech.1
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 12
فِيهَا عَيۡنٌ ج َارِيَةٌ ١٢
EN · Sahih Intl. Within it is a flowing spring.
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 13
فِيهَا سُرُرٌ م َّرۡفُوعَةٌ ١٣
EN · Sahih Intl. Within it are couches raised high

وَأَكۡوَابٌ م َّوۡضُوعَةٌ ١٤
EN · Sahih Intl. And cups put in place
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 15
وَنَمَارِقُ مَصۡفُوفَةٌ ١٥
EN · Sahih Intl. And cushions lined up
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 16
وَزَرَابِىُّ مَبۡ ثُوثَةٌ ١٦
EN · Sahih Intl. And carpets spread around.
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 17
أَفَلَا يَنظ ُرُونَ إِلَى ٱ لۡإِبِلِ كَيۡفَ خُلِقَتۡ ١٧
EN · Sahih Intl. Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created?
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 18
وَإِلَى ٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ كَيۡفَ رُفِعَتۡ ١٨
EN · Sahih Intl. And at the sky - how it is raised?
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 19
وَإِلَى ٱ لۡجِبَالِ كَيۡفَ نُصِبَتۡ ١٩
EN · Sahih Intl. And at the mountains - how they are erected?
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 20
وَإِلَى ٱ لۡأَرۡضِ كَيۡفَ سُطِحَتۡ ٢٠
EN · Sahih Intl. And at the earth - how it is spread out?
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 21
فَذَكِّرۡ إِنّ َمَآ أَنت َ مُذَكِّرٌ ٢١
EN · Sahih Intl. So remind, [O Muḥammad]; you are only a reminder.
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 22
لَّسۡتَ عَلَيۡهِم ب ِمُصَيۡطِرٍ ٢٢
EN · Sahih Intl. You are not over them a controller.
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 23
إِلَّا مَن ت َوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ ٢٣
EN · Sahih Intl. However, he who turns away and disbelieves
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 24
فَيُعَذِّبُهُ ٱ للَّهُ ٱ لۡعَذَابَ ٱ لۡأَكۡبَرَ ٢٤
EN · Sahih Intl. Then Allāh will punish him with the greatest punishment.
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 25
إِنّ َ إِلَيۡنَآ إِيَابَهُمۡ ٢٥
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, to Us is their return.
Al-Ghashiyah • Ayah 26
ثُمّ َ إِنّ َ عَلَيۡنَا حِسَابَهُم ٢٦
EN · Sahih Intl. Then indeed, upon Us is their account.
