56. Al-Waqi'ah (96 Ayahs)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 2
لَيۡسَ لِوَقۡ عَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ ٢
EN · Sahih Intl. There is, at its occurrence, no denial.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 3
خَافِضَةٌ ر َّافِعَةٌ ٣
EN · Sahih Intl. It will bring down [some] and raise up [others].1
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 4
إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱ لۡأَرۡضُ رَجًّا ٤
EN · Sahih Intl. When the earth is shaken with convulsion
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 5
وَبُسَّتِ ٱ لۡجِبَالُ بَسًّا ٥
EN · Sahih Intl. And the mountains are broken down, crumbling
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 6
فَكَانَتۡ هَبَا ٓءً م ُّنۢب َثًّا ٦
EN · Sahih Intl. And become dust dispersing,
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 7
وَكُنت ُمۡ أَزۡوٰ جًا ث َلَـٰ ثَةً ٧
EN · Sahih Intl. And you become [of] three kinds:
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 8
فَأَصۡحَـٰ بُ ٱ لۡمَيۡمَنَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَـٰ بُ ٱ لۡمَيۡمَنَةِ ٨
EN · Sahih Intl. Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?1
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 9
وَأَصۡحَـٰ بُ ٱ لۡمَشۡــَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَـٰ بُ ٱ لۡمَشۡــَٔمَةِ ٩
EN · Sahih Intl. And the companions of the left - what are companions of the left?1
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 10
وَٱ ل سَّـٰ بِقُونَ ٱ ل سَّـٰ بِقُو نَ ١٠
EN · Sahih Intl. And the forerunners, the forerunners1 -
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 11
أُوۡ لَـٰٓ ئِكَ ٱ لۡمُقَرَّبُو نَ ١١
EN · Sahih Intl. Those are the ones brought near [to Allāh]
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 12
فِى جَنّ َـٰ تِ ٱ ل نّ َعِي مِ ١٢
EN · Sahih Intl. In the Gardens of Pleasure,
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 13
ثُلَّةٌ م ِّنَ ٱ لۡأَوَّلِي نَ ١٣
EN · Sahih Intl. A [large] company of the former peoples
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 14
وَقَلِيلٌ م ِّنَ ٱ لۡأَخِرِي نَ ١٤
EN · Sahih Intl. And a few of the later peoples,
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 15
عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ م َّوۡضُونَةٍ ١٥
EN · Sahih Intl. On thrones woven [with ornament],
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 16
مُّتَّكِــِٔينَ عَلَيۡهَا مُتَقَـٰ بِلِي نَ ١٦
EN · Sahih Intl. Reclining on them, facing each other.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 17
يَطُوفُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وِلۡدٰ نٌ م ُّخَلَّدُو نَ ١٧
EN · Sahih Intl. There will circulate among them young boys made eternal.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 18
بِأَكۡوَابٍ و َأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأۡسٍ م ِّن م َّعِي نٍ ١٨
EN · Sahih Intl. With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring -
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 19
لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنۡهَا وَلَا يُنز ِفُو نَ ١٩
EN · Sahih Intl. No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated -
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 20
وَفَـٰ كِهَةٍ م ِّمّ َا يَتَخَيَّرُو نَ ٢٠
EN · Sahih Intl. And fruit of what they select
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 21
وَلَحۡمِ طَيۡرٍ م ِّمّ َا يَشۡتَهُو نَ ٢١
EN · Sahih Intl. And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 22
وَحُورٌ عِي نٌ ٢٢
EN · Sahih Intl. And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes,
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 23
كَأَمۡثَـٰ لِ ٱ ل لُّؤۡلُوِٕ ٱ لۡمَكۡنُو نِ ٢٣
EN · Sahih Intl. The likenesses of pearls well-protected,
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 24
جَزَا ٓءَۢ ب ِمَا كَانُواۡ يَعۡمَلُو نَ ٢٤
EN · Sahih Intl. As reward for what they used to do.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 25
لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغۡوًا و َلَا تَأۡثِيمًا ٢٥
EN · Sahih Intl. They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin -
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 26
إِلَّا قِيلاً س َلَـٰ مًا س َلَـٰ مًا ٢٦
EN · Sahih Intl. Only a saying [of] peace, peace.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 27
وَأَصۡحَـٰ بُ ٱ لۡيَمِينِ مَآ أَصۡحَـٰ بُ ٱ لۡيَمِي نِ ٢٧
EN · Sahih Intl. The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 28
فِى سِدۡ رٍ م َّخۡضُو د ٍ ٢٨
EN · Sahih Intl. [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 29
وَطَلۡحٍ م َّنض ُو د ٍ ٢٩
EN · Sahih Intl. And [banana] trees layered [with fruit].
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 30
وَظِلٍّ م َّمۡدُو د ٍ ٣٠
EN · Sahih Intl. And shade extended.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 31
وَمَا ٓءٍ م َّسۡكُو ب ٍ ٣١
EN · Sahih Intl. And water poured out
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 32
وَفَـٰ كِهَةٍ ك َثِيرَةٍ ٣٢
EN · Sahih Intl. And fruit, abundant [and varied],
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 33
لَّا مَقۡ طُوعَةٍ و َلَا مَمۡنُوعَةٍ ٣٣
EN · Sahih Intl. Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden,
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 34
وَفُرُشٍ م َّرۡفُوعَةٍ ٣٤
EN · Sahih Intl. And [upon] beds raised high.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 35
إِنّ َآ أَنش َأۡنَـٰ هُنّ َ إِنش َا ٓءً ٣٥
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, We have produced them [i.e., the women of Paradise] in a [new] creation
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 36
فَجَعَلۡنَـٰ هُنّ َ أَبۡ كَارًا ٣٦
EN · Sahih Intl. And made them virgins,
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 37
عُرُبًا أَتۡرَابًا ٣٧
EN · Sahih Intl. Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age,
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 38
لِّأَصۡحَـٰ بِ ٱ لۡيَمِي نِ ٣٨
EN · Sahih Intl. For the companions of the right [who are]
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 39
ثُلَّةٌ م ِّنَ ٱ لۡأَوَّلِي نَ ٣٩
EN · Sahih Intl. A company of the former peoples
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 40
وَثُلَّةٌ م ِّنَ ٱ لۡأَخِرِي نَ ٤٠
EN · Sahih Intl. And a company of the later peoples.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 41
وَأَصۡحَـٰ بُ ٱ ل شِّمَالِ مَآ أَصۡحَـٰ بُ ٱ ل شِّمَا لِ ٤١
EN · Sahih Intl. And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left?
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 42
فِى سَمُومٍ و َحَمِي مٍ ٤٢
EN · Sahih Intl. [They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 43
وَظِلٍّ م ِّن ي َحۡمُو مٍ ٤٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And a shade of black smoke,
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 44
لَّا بَارِدٍ و َلَا كَرِي مٍ ٤٤
EN · Sahih Intl. Neither cool nor beneficial.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 45
إِنّ َهُمۡ كَانُواۡ قَبۡ لَ ذٰ ِي نَ ٤٥
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence,
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 46
وَكَانُواۡ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱ لۡحِنث ِ ٱ لۡعَظِي مِ ٤٦
EN · Sahih Intl. And they used to persist in the great violation,1
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 47
وَكَانُواۡ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنّ َا تُرَابًا و َعِظَـٰ مًا أَءِنّ َا لَمَبۡ عُوثُو نَ ٤٧
EN · Sahih Intl. And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 48
أَوَءَابَا ٓؤُنَا ٱ لۡأَوَّلُو نَ ٤٨
EN · Sahih Intl. And our forefathers [as well]?"
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 49
قُلۡ إِنّ َ ٱ لۡأَوَّلِينَ وَٱ لۡأَخِرِي نَ ٤٩
EN · Sahih Intl. Say, [O Muḥammad], "Indeed, the former and later peoples
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 50
لَمَجۡ مُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَـٰ تِ يَوۡمٍ م َّعۡلُو مٍ ٥٠
EN · Sahih Intl. Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day."
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 51
ثُمّ َ إِنّ َكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱ ل ضَّا ٓلُّونَ ٱ لۡمُكَذِّبُو نَ ٥١
EN · Sahih Intl. Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers,
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 52
لَأَكِلُونَ مِن ش َجَرٍ م ِّن ز َقُّو مٍ ٥٢
EN · Sahih Intl. Will be eating from trees of zaqqūm
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 53
فَمَالِــُٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱ لۡبُطُو نَ ٥٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And filling with it your bellies
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 54
فَشَـٰ رِبُونَ عَلَيۡهِ مِنَ ٱ لۡحَمِي مِ ٥٤
EN · Sahih Intl. And drinking on top of it from scalding water.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 55
فَشَـٰ رِبُونَ شُرۡبَ ٱ لۡهِي مِ ٥٥
EN · Sahih Intl. And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 56
هَـٰ ذَا نُزُلُهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱ ل دِّي نِ ٥٦
EN · Sahih Intl. That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 57
نَحۡنُ خَلَقۡ نَـٰ كُمۡ فَلَوۡلَا تُصَدِّقُو نَ ٥٧
EN · Sahih Intl. We have created you, so why do you not believe?
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 58
أَفَرَءَيۡتُم م َّا تُمۡنُو نَ ٥٨
EN · Sahih Intl. Have you seen that which you emit?1
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 59
ءَأَنت ُمۡ تَخۡلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱ لۡخَـٰ لِقُو نَ ٥٩
EN · Sahih Intl. Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator?
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 60
نَحۡنُ قَدَّرۡنَا بَيۡنَكُمُ ٱ لۡمَوۡتَ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَسۡبُوقِي نَ ٦٠
EN · Sahih Intl. We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 61
عَلَىٰٓ أَن ن ُّبَدِّلَ أَمۡثَـٰ لَكُمۡ وَنُنش ِئَكُمۡ فِى مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُو نَ ٦١
EN · Sahih Intl. In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know.1
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 62
وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتُمُ ٱ ل نّ َشۡأَةَ ٱ لۡأُولَىٰ فَلَوۡلَا تَذَكَّرُو نَ ٦٢
EN · Sahih Intl. And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember?
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 63
أَفَرَءَيۡتُم م َّا تَحۡرُثُو نَ ٦٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And have you seen that [seed] which you sow?
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 64
ءَأَنت ُمۡ تَزۡرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱ ل زّٰ ُو نَ ٦٤
EN · Sahih Intl. Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower?
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 65
لَوۡ نَشَا ٓءُ لَجَعَلۡنَـٰ هُ حُطَـٰ مًا ف َظَلۡتُمۡ تَفَكَّهُو نَ ٦٥
EN · Sahih Intl. If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder,1
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 66
إِنّ َا لَمُغۡرَمُو نَ ٦٦
EN · Sahih Intl. [Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt;
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 67
بَلۡ نَحۡنُ مَحۡرُومُو نَ ٦٧
EN · Sahih Intl. Rather, we have been deprived."
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 68
أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱ لۡمَا ٓءَ ٱ لَّذِى تَشۡرَبُو نَ ٦٨
EN · Sahih Intl. And have you seen the water that you drink?
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 69
ءَأَنت ُمۡ أَنز َلۡتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱ لۡمُزۡنِ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱ لۡمُنز ِلُو نَ ٦٩
EN · Sahih Intl. Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down?
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 70
لَوۡ نَشَا ٓءُ جَعَلۡنَـٰ هُ أُجَاجًا ف َلَوۡلَا تَشۡكُرُو نَ ٧٠
EN · Sahih Intl. If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful?
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 71
أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱ ل نّ َارَ ٱ لَّتِى تُورُو نَ ٧١
EN · Sahih Intl. And have you seen the fire that you ignite?
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 72
ءَأَنت ُمۡ أَنش َأۡتُمۡ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱ لۡمُنش ِــُٔو نَ ٧٢
EN · Sahih Intl. Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer?
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 73
نَحۡنُ جَعَلۡنَـٰ هَا تَذۡكِرَةً و َمَتَـٰ عًا ل ِّلۡمُقۡ وِي نَ ٧٣
EN · Sahih Intl. We have made it a reminder1 and provision for the travelers,2
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 74
فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱ سۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱ لۡعَظِي مِ ٧٤
EN · Sahih Intl. So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 75
۞فَلَآ أُقۡ سِمُ بِمَوٰ ٱ ل نّ ُجُو مِ ٧٥
EN · Sahih Intl. Then I swear by the setting of the stars,1
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 76
وَإِنّ َهُۥ لَقَسَمٌ ل َّوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عَظِي مٌ ٧٦
EN · Sahih Intl. And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 77
إِنّ َهُۥ لَقُرۡءَانٌ ك َرِي مٌ ٧٧
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, it is a noble Qur’ān.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 78
فِى كِتَـٰ بٍ م َّكۡنُو نٍ ٧٨
EN · Sahih Intl. In a Register well-protected;1.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 79
لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱ لۡمُطَهَّرُو نَ ٧٩
EN · Sahih Intl. None touch it except the purified [i.e., the angels].
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 80
تَنز ِيلٌ م ِّن ر َّبِّ ٱ لۡعَـٰ لَمِي نَ ٨٠
EN · Sahih Intl. [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 81
أَفَبِهَـٰ ذَا ٱ لۡحَدِيثِ أَنت ُم م ُّدۡ هِنُو نَ ٨١
EN · Sahih Intl. Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 82
وَتَجۡ عَلُونَ رِزۡقَكُمۡ أَنّ َكُمۡ تُكَذِّبُو نَ ٨٢
EN · Sahih Intl. And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]?
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 83
فَلَوۡلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱ لۡحُلۡقُو مَ ٨٣
EN · Sahih Intl. Then why, when it [i.e., the soul at death] reaches the throat
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 84
وَأَنت ُمۡ حِينَئِذٍ ت َنظ ُرُو نَ ٨٤
EN · Sahih Intl. And you are at that time looking on -
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 85
وَنَحۡنُ أَقۡ رَبُ إِلَيۡهِ مِنك ُمۡ وَلَـٰ كِن ل َّا تُبۡ صِرُو نَ ٨٥
EN · Sahih Intl. And We [i.e., Our angels] are nearer to him than you, but you do not see -
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 86
فَلَوۡلَآ إِن ك ُنت ُمۡ غَيۡرَ مَدِينِي نَ ٨٦
EN · Sahih Intl. Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed,
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 87
تَرۡجِعُونَهَآ إِن ك ُنت ُمۡ صَـٰ دِقِي نَ ٨٧
EN · Sahih Intl. Bring it back,1 if you should be truthful?
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 88
فَأَمّ َآ إِن ك َانَ مِنَ ٱ لۡمُقَرَّبِي نَ ٨٨
EN · Sahih Intl. And if he [i.e., the deceased] was of those brought near [to Allāh],
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 89
فَرَوۡحٌ و َرَيۡحَانٌ و َجَنّ َتُ نَعِي مٍ ٨٩
EN · Sahih Intl. Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 90
وَأَمّ َآ إِن ك َانَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَـٰ بِ ٱ لۡيَمِي نِ ٩٠
EN · Sahih Intl. And if he was of the companions of the right,
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 91
فَسَلَـٰ مٌ ل َّكَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَـٰ بِ ٱ لۡيَمِي نِ ٩١
EN · Sahih Intl. Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right."
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 92
وَأَمّ َآ إِن ك َانَ مِنَ ٱ لۡمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱ ل ضَّا ٓلِّي نَ ٩٢
EN · Sahih Intl. But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray,
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 93
فَنُزُلٌ م ِّنۡ حَمِي مٍ ٩٣
EN · Sahih Intl. Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding water
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 94
وَتَصۡلِيَةُ جَحِي مٍ ٩٤
EN · Sahih Intl. And burning in Hellfire.
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 95
إِنّ َ هَـٰ ذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱ لۡيَقِي نِ ٩٥
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, this is the true certainty,
Al-Waqi'ah • Ayah 96
فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱ سۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱ لۡعَظِي مِ ٩٦
EN · Sahih Intl. So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.
