50. Qaf (45 Ayahs)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
Qaf • Ayah 2
بَلۡ عَجِبُوٓ اۡ أَن ج َا ٓءَهُم م ُّنذ ِرٌ م ِّنۡهُمۡ فَقَالَ ٱ لۡكَـٰ فِرُونَ هَـٰ ذَا شَىۡءٌ عَجِي ب ٌ ٢
EN · Sahih Intl. But they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say, "This is an amazing thing.
Qaf • Ayah 3
أَءِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنّ َا تُرَابًاۖ ذ ٰ جۡ عُۢ ب َعِي د ٌ ٣
EN · Sahih Intl. When we have died and have become dust, [we will return to life]? That is a distant [i.e., unlikely] return."
Qaf • Ayah 4
قَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا مَا تَنق ُصُ ٱ لۡأَرۡضُ مِنۡهُمۡۖ وَعِند َنَا كِتَـٰ بٌ حَفِي ظُۢ ٤
EN · Sahih Intl. We know what the earth diminishes [i.e., consumes] of them, and with Us is a retaining record.
Qaf • Ayah 5
بَلۡ كَذَّبُواۡ بِٱ لۡحَقِّ لَمّ َا جَا ٓءَهُمۡ فَهُمۡ فِىٓ أَمۡرٍ م َّرِي ج ٍ ٥
EN · Sahih Intl. But they denied the truth when it came to them, so they are in a confused condition.
Qaf • Ayah 6
أَفَلَمۡ يَنظ ُرُوٓ اۡ إِلَى ٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ فَوۡقَهُمۡ كَيۡفَ بَنَيۡنَـٰ هَا وَزَيَّنّ َـٰ هَا وَمَا لَهَا مِن ف ُرُو ج ٍ ٦
EN · Sahih Intl. Have they not looked at the heaven above them - how We structured it and adorned it and [how] it has no rifts?
Qaf • Ayah 7
وَٱ لۡأَرۡضَ مَدَدۡ نَـٰ هَا وَأَلۡقَيۡنَا فِيهَا رَوٰ نۢب َتۡنَا فِيهَا مِن ك ُلِّ زَوۡجِۭ ب َهِي ج ٍ ٧
EN · Sahih Intl. And the earth - We spread it out and cast therein firmly set mountains and made grow therein [something] of every beautiful kind,
Qaf • Ayah 8
تَبۡ صِرَةً و َذِكۡرَىٰ لِكُلِّ عَبۡ دٍ م ُّنِي ب ٍ ٨
EN · Sahih Intl. Giving insight and a reminder for every servant who turns [to Allāh].
Qaf • Ayah 9
وَنَزَّلۡنَا مِنَ ٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ مَا ٓءً م ُّبَـٰ رَكًا ف َأَنۢب َتۡنَا بِهِۦ جَنّ َـٰ تٍ و َحَبَّ ٱ لۡحَصِي د ِ ٩
EN · Sahih Intl. And We have sent down blessed rain from the sky and made grow thereby gardens and grain from the harvest
Qaf • Ayah 10
وَٱ ل نّ َخۡلَ بَاسِقَـٰ تٍ ل َّهَا طَلۡعٌ ن َّضِي د ٌ ١٠
EN · Sahih Intl. And lofty palm trees having fruit arranged in layers -
Qaf • Ayah 11
رِّزۡقًا ل ِّلۡعِبَادِۖ وَأَحۡيَيۡنَا بِهِۦ بَلۡدَةً م َّيۡتًاۚ ك َذٰ ٱ لۡخُرُو ج ُ ١١
EN · Sahih Intl. As provision for the servants, and We have given life thereby to a dead land. Thus is the emergence [i.e., resurrection].
Qaf • Ayah 12
كَذَّبَتۡ قَبۡ لَهُمۡ قَوۡمُ نُوحٍ و َأَصۡحَـٰ بُ ٱ ل رَّسِّ وَثَمُو د ُ ١٢
EN · Sahih Intl. The people of Noah denied before them,1 and the companions of the well2 and Thamūd
Qaf • Ayah 13
وَعَادٌ و َفِرۡعَوۡنُ وَإِخۡوٰ ُو ط ٍ ١٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And ʿAad and Pharaoh and the brothers [i.e., people] of Lot
Qaf • Ayah 14
وَأَصۡحَـٰ بُ ٱ لۡأَيۡكَةِ وَقَوۡمُ تُبَّعٍۚ ك ُلٌّ ك َذَّبَ ٱ ل رُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِي د ِ ١٤
EN · Sahih Intl. And the companions of the thicket and the people of Tubbaʿ. All denied the messengers, so My threat was justly fulfilled.
Qaf • Ayah 15
أَفَعَيِينَا بِٱ لۡخَلۡقِ ٱ لۡأَوَّلِۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ فِى لَبۡ سٍ م ِّنۡ خَلۡقٍ ج َدِي د ٍ ١٥
EN · Sahih Intl. Did We fail in the first creation? But they are in confusion over a new creation.
Qaf • Ayah 16
وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡ نَا ٱ لۡإِنس َـٰ نَ وَنَعۡلَمُ مَا تُوَسۡوِسُ بِهِۦ نَفۡسُهُۥ ۖ وَنَحۡنُ أَقۡ رَبُ إِلَيۡهِ مِنۡ حَبۡ لِ ٱ لۡوَرِي د ِ ١٦
EN · Sahih Intl. And We have already created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer1 to him than [his] jugular vein.
Qaf • Ayah 17
إِذۡ يَتَلَقَّى ٱ لۡمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ ٱ لۡيَمِينِ وَعَنِ ٱ ل شِّمَالِ قَعِي د ٌ ١٧
EN · Sahih Intl. When the two receivers [i.e., recording angels] receive,1 seated on the right and on the left.
Qaf • Ayah 18
مَّا يَلۡفِظُ مِن ق َوۡلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيۡهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِي د ٌ ١٨
EN · Sahih Intl. He [i.e., man] utters no word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record].
Qaf • Ayah 19
وَجَا ٓءَتۡ سَكۡرَةُ ٱ لۡمَوۡتِ بِٱ لۡحَقِّۖ ذٰ نت َ مِنۡهُ تَحِي د ُ ١٩
EN · Sahih Intl. And the intoxication of death will bring the truth; that is what you were trying to avoid.
Qaf • Ayah 20
وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱ ل صُّورِۚ ذٰ ٱ لۡوَعِي د ِ ٢٠
EN · Sahih Intl. And the Horn will be blown. That is the Day of [carrying out] the threat.
Qaf • Ayah 21
وَجَا ٓءَتۡ كُلُّ نَفۡسٍ م َّعَهَا سَا ٓئِقٌ و َشَهِي د ٌ ٢١
EN · Sahih Intl. And every soul will come, with it a driver and a witness.1
Qaf • Ayah 22
لَّقَدۡ كُنت َ فِى غَفۡلَةٍ م ِّنۡ هَـٰ ذَا فَكَشَفۡنَا عَنك َ غِطَا ٓءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ ٱ لۡيَوۡمَ حَدِي د ٌ ٢٢
EN · Sahih Intl. [It will be said], "You were certainly in unmindfulness of this, and We have removed from you your cover,1 so your sight, this Day, is sharp."
Qaf • Ayah 23
وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ هَـٰ ذَا مَا لَدَىَّ عَتِي د ٌ ٢٣
EN · Sahih Intl. And his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared."
Qaf • Ayah 24
أَلۡقِيَا فِى جَهَنّ َمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِي د ٍ ٢٤
EN · Sahih Intl. [Allāh will say], "Throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever,
Qaf • Ayah 25
مَّنّ َاعٍ ل ِّلۡخَيۡرِ مُعۡتَدٍ م ُّرِي ب ٍ ٢٥
EN · Sahih Intl. Preventer of good, aggressor, and doubter,
Qaf • Ayah 26
ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ مَعَ ٱ للَّهِ إِلَـٰ هًا ءَاخَرَ فَأَلۡقِيَاهُ فِى ٱ لۡعَذَابِ ٱ ل شَّدِي د ِ ٢٦
EN · Sahih Intl. Who made [as equal] with Allāh another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment."
Qaf • Ayah 27
۞قَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ رَبَّنَا مَآ أَطۡ غَيۡتُهُۥ وَلَـٰ كِن ك َانَ فِى ضَلَـٰ لِۭ ب َعِي د ٍ ٢٧
EN · Sahih Intl. His [devil] companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he [himself] was in extreme error."
Qaf • Ayah 28
قَالَ لَا تَخۡتَصِمُواۡ لَدَىَّ وَقَدۡ قَدَّمۡتُ إِلَيۡكُم ب ِٱ لۡوَعِي د ِ ٢٨
EN · Sahih Intl. [Allāh] will say, "Do not dispute before Me, while I had already presented to you the threat [i.e., warning].
Qaf • Ayah 29
مَا يُبَدَّلُ ٱ لۡقَوۡلُ لَدَىَّ وَمَآ أَنَاۡ بِظَلَّـٰ مٍ ل ِّلۡعَبِي د ِ ٢٩
EN · Sahih Intl. The word [i.e., decree] will not be changed with Me, and never will I be unjust to the servants."
Qaf • Ayah 30
يَوۡمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنّ َمَ هَلِ ٱ مۡتَلَأۡتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلۡ مِن م َّزِي د ٍ ٣٠
EN · Sahih Intl. On the Day We will say to Hell, "Have you been filled?" and it will say, "Are there some more,"
Qaf • Ayah 31
وَأُزۡلِفَتِ ٱ لۡجَنّ َةُ لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ غَيۡرَ بَعِي د ٍ ٣١
EN · Sahih Intl. And Paradise will be brought near to the righteous, not far,
Qaf • Ayah 32
هَـٰ ذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِكُلِّ أَوَّابٍ حَفِي ظٍ ٣٢
EN · Sahih Intl. [It will be said], "This is what you were promised - for every returner [to Allāh] and keeper [of His covenant].
Qaf • Ayah 33
مَّنۡ خَشِىَ ٱ ل رَّحۡمَـٰ نَ بِٱ لۡغَيۡبِ وَجَا ٓءَ بِقَلۡبٍ م ُّنِي ب ٍ ٣٣
EN · Sahih Intl. Who feared the Most Merciful in the unseen and came with a heart returning [in repentance].
Qaf • Ayah 34
ٱدۡ خُلُوهَا بِسَلَـٰ مٍۖ ذ ٰ ٱ لۡخُلُو د ِ ٣٤
EN · Sahih Intl. Enter it in peace. This is the Day of Eternity."
Qaf • Ayah 35
لَهُم م َّا يَشَا ٓءُونَ فِيهَا وَلَدَيۡنَا مَزِي د ٌ ٣٥
EN · Sahih Intl. They will have whatever they wish therein, and with Us is more.
Qaf • Ayah 36
وَكَمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا قَبۡ لَهُم م ِّن ق َرۡنٍ هُمۡ أَشَدُّ مِنۡهُم ب َطۡ شًا ف َنَقَّبُواۡ فِى ٱ لۡبِلَـٰ دِ هَلۡ مِن م َّحِي صٍ ٣٦
EN · Sahih Intl. And how many a generation before them did We destroy who were greater than them in [striking] power and had explored throughout the lands. Is there any place of escape?
Qaf • Ayah 37
إِنّ َ فِى ذٰ ن ك َانَ لَهُۥ قَلۡبٌ أَوۡ أَلۡقَى ٱ ل سَّمۡعَ وَهُوَ شَهِي د ٌ ٣٧
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed in that is a reminder for whoever has a heart or who listens while he is present [in mind].
Qaf • Ayah 38
وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡ نَا ٱ ل سَّمَـٰ وٰ ٱ لۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ و َمَا مَسَّنَا مِن ل ُّغُو ب ٍ ٣٨
EN · Sahih Intl. And We did certainly create the heavens and earth and what is between them in six days, and there touched Us no weariness.
Qaf • Ayah 39
فَٱ صۡبِرۡ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّكَ قَبۡ لَ طُلُوعِ ٱ ل شَّمۡسِ وَقَبۡ لَ ٱ لۡغُرُو ب ِ ٣٩
EN · Sahih Intl. So be patient, [O Muḥammad], over what they say and exalt [Allāh] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting,
Qaf • Ayah 40
وَمِنَ ٱ لَّيۡلِ فَسَبِّحۡهُ وَأَدۡ بَـٰ رَ ٱ ل سُّجُو د ِ ٤٠
EN · Sahih Intl. And [in part] of the night exalt Him and after prostration [i.e., prayer].
Qaf • Ayah 41
وَٱ سۡتَمِعۡ يَوۡمَ يُنَادِ ٱ لۡمُنَادِ مِن م َّكَانٍ ق َرِي ب ٍ ٤١
EN · Sahih Intl. And listen on the Day when the Caller1 will call out from a place that is near -
Qaf • Ayah 42
يَوۡمَ يَسۡمَعُونَ ٱ ل صَّيۡحَةَ بِٱ لۡحَقِّۚ ذٰ ٱ لۡخُرُو ج ِ ٤٢
EN · Sahih Intl. The Day they will hear the blast [of the Horn] in truth. That is the Day of Emergence [from the graves].
Qaf • Ayah 43
إِنّ َا نَحۡنُ نُحۡىِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَإِلَيۡنَا ٱ لۡمَصِي رُ ٤٣
EN · Sahih Intl. Indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and to Us is the destination
Qaf • Ayah 44
يَوۡمَ تَشَقَّقُ ٱ لۡأَرۡضُ عَنۡهُمۡ سِرَاعًاۚ ذ ٰ ِي رٌ ٤٤
EN · Sahih Intl. On the Day the earth breaks away from them [and they emerge] rapidly; that is a gathering easy for Us.
Qaf • Ayah 45
نَّحۡنُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَۖ وَمَآ أَنت َ عَلَيۡهِم ب ِجَبَّارٍۖ ف َذَكِّرۡ بِٱ لۡقُرۡءَانِ مَن ي َخَافُ وَعِي د ِ ٤٥
EN · Sahih Intl. We are most knowing of what they say, and you are not over them a tyrant.1 But remind by the Qur’ān whoever fears My threat.
